The new full-length Mark Steiner & His Problems album, "BLACK HOLE," is out NOW, and features Ted Parsons, Leon Muraglia, and Romer Paluch-Edwards, and Ingunn Holmen, along with special guests Pavel Cingl, Line Saus and Thomas Borge. The album dropped on Friday, 26. January!

The album release party took place on Wednesday, 31. January at MIR in Oslo.


The new single "Hang On! (Twin Flames)" and music video (directed by filmmaker Jean De Oliveira) was released digitally on Friday, 27. October!

Mark Steiner, Ingunn Holmen, and Pavel Cingl launched a second new single on 11. August 2023. Twin Flames (aka Hang On) is the follow-up to the recent new single called "Black Hole (Nebula version)," both of which is are stripped-down interpretations of the songs from the new album bearing the same title as the upcoming new LP by Mark Steiner & His Problems. Confused? Don't be. Stay tuned!

and singer Ingunn Holmen played two concerts in Berlin in March followed by a gig in late April at Closer Bar in Athens, Greece... They are now getting ready for a mini-tour of Czech Republic this August. See the tour dates.

Mark Steiner & Pavel Cingl completed a mini-tour of Czech Republic in early September 2022, and the two of them then followed up with some stripped-down shows with special guests Ingunn Holmen and Thomas Borge in support of Hackdepicciotto (featuring Alexander Hacke (Einstürzende Neubauten) and Danielle de Picciotto (Love Parade) in both Copenhagen and in Oslo in October.
 

Mark Steiner & His Problems finally returned to the stage as a full band on 4. June as support for the legendary Australian band Crime & the City Solution at John Dee in Oslo. Also, Mark Steiner & Ingunn Holmen played a support set at Kafé Hærverk in Oslo for Australian artist JP SHILO on Sunday 12. June.
 

TWO LATEST SINGLES! Released on Friday, 11. March 2022, the single "Syn" was produced, recorded and mixed by Mark Steiner at Stagger Home Studios, and features Ted Parsons (ex-Swans, Killing Joke, Prong, Jesu, etc) on drums. The lyrics are in Norwegian - a first in Steiner's career as a solo artist. More info can be found here.

The second single, "Black Hole," is a teaser, an exclusive mix of title track featuring special guest Ingunn Holmen, from the upcoming album "Black Hole."

 

UKR2022: WAR RELIEF
BENEFIT COMPILATION

 

Norwegian record label Hærverk Industrier and concert venue Kafé Hærverk release a 50-track compilation by various artists, where all proceeds will go directly to humanitarian organizations working in the field in Ukraine and with refugees in neighbouring countries.

This compilation can be downloaded via Bandcamp and costs NOK 200 EUR 20) or more if you want to pay more. If you buy it on the day of release, 100% of the money will go to the benefit, since April 1st is Bandcamp Friday, when Bandcamp waives their share of all sales that day.

Mark is also working on a new exciting side project with budding Norwegian singer Ingunn Holmen, and the duo have performed gigs at 12 Tónar in Reykjavík, Iceland, and at Berlin Under A in New York City. They plan to soon release her debut single, a magical, cinematic duet called "Don't Let the Moon Go Down on Me."

Italian multi-instrumentalist Massimilano Gallo approached Mark to sing vocals on his dreamy interpretation of the classic song by the legendary Velvet Underground.

A political / apocalyptic single has been released featuring music by Jason Wallach of The UnQuiet Void with special guest Mark Steiner on vocals. Be sure to check out  PUREE OF HEART "Strange Times (in America)"

Sorrow & The Sea featuring Norwegian singer/songwriter/guitarist Monica Røise is ongoing. Following a support gig for John Parish in late 2018, along with a mini-tour of Berlin and Czech Republic, recordings for the debut album have been in the works, and a full-length album can be finally expected in 2023.
